Stowe Free Library

Hi, my name is Alison Smith, and I'm a member of the Teen Advisory Board for the Stowe Free Library. Some of my favorite books are all the Harry Potters. I have read each book at least 10 times. I have practically memorized the second and third books. I started reading Harry Potter when I was in the first grade. My mom would read them to me at night instead of watching T.V. I loved the story of the underdog orphan boy learning he was a famous wizard and having adventures in his new school with his new friends.
Over the years I came to love and understand the characters as though they were old friends. My friends and I would talk about nothing else in the days leading up to a new HP book or movie. We discussed plot lines, character changes, romance, and the development of the evil villain Lord Voldemort. I look back now and realize that at a very young age my friends and I were having in depth conversations about HP books but we did not realize it because we were so involved in the book.
Although the story of Harry the Wizard is over and the books are finished I remain a faithful HP fan and I plan to forever. I will stay up until midnight to watch all the new movies. I will always reread the books. I plan on telling everyone I know about how much Harry Potter changed my outlook on books and how much I love them. Harry Potter rules!
