Summer Reading Programs for Kids &Teens
Stowe Free Library Summer 2008 Reading Programs
All children and young
adults are invited to sign up for a "Catch the Reading
Bug" reading program at the Stowe Free Library this summer. Sponsored by
the Vermont Department of Libraries, this program encourages reading over the
summer in a noncompetitive format. Register anytime during the summer for one
of the following programs:
Pre/K - Children not yet reading on their own may join our Read-to-Me
program. Each child will receive a reading log and a set of stickers. Moms
& Dads can write down what they read to you and you can put
a sticker on your record. Fill up a page in your reading log and win a prize!
Elementary School - Record what you read over the summer in your own "Catch the Reading Bug" book log. Play the "Diary of a Spider" reading game and win fun prizes!

Middle/High School - Anyone attending grades 6-12 in the fall may join our Teen Reading Program. Read a new DCF or Green Mt. Book Award book and receive a Stowe Cinema movie ticket or another prize. Record what you
read on a paper reading log or set up an online summer reading program account at www.librarything.com. Be sure to ask Childrens Librarian Julie Pickett for your login and password.
