2017 Summer Reading Program

You are invited to join

a 2017 Summer Reading Program

at the Stowe Free Library

Children of all ages and abilities can join a reading program.

You may join anytime on or after June 1. You can join Online-Click here or at the library, in-person.

  • Come to the library and pick up a book bag containing a reading record, a bookmark, stickers, an arm band, and a copy of the Builder’s Beacon game and puzzle sheet.
  • Fill out a reading record on your own. Set a goal for yourself -- how much do you want to read over the summer? When you reach your goal, you can come to the library for a prize.

  • You can also play the Library Reading Incentive game with interesting and fun challenges. Complete it for a prize!

  • Middle grade readers (gr. 4-8) can join our Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Club. You will get a punch card of DCF titles.  When you read one of the titles, a librarian will punch your card. Fill out a raffle ticket each time you get a punch. You could win a free DCF book! Ask a librarian about our year-round book discussion club too.

  • Kids in grades K-4 can join our Red Clover Program. Get a punch card, read all the Red Clover books, and win a free ice cream cone!

  •  Babies and toddlers can join our Rubber Ducky Readers program. Complete the program and get your own rubber ducky!

Be sure to come to our fun events (see calendar) and don’t forget to enter our Guessing Jar contest.

Remember:

Children do better in school when they read over the summer.

Come to the library and we will help you find great books to read!
