What's New for Kids

Welcome November

Welcome November,

I hope that your families are well and adjusting to the new school year. It has been inspiring to see the intrepid SES students and dedicated teachers holding classes outdoors on the Stowe cultural campus. Kudos to all for making the best of the situation imposed on us by the virus. We have also been delighted to welcome the families that made the difficult decision to school at home this year. None of this is easy, but we will all come out of this with lessons learned and greater resiliency.

I was very pleased with the interest shown for outdoor Story Time on the lawn. Our littlest learners and their caregivers have been enthusiastic about our time together and I have been happy to send home craft kits each session. With the governor’s directive of November 13th, we have made the decision to cancel the remaining Stories on the Lawn. I will miss seeing you all and hope that you will reach out to us and continue to borrow books. Weekly craft kits will continue to be offered as part of our Porch Pick-Up service and I have begun work on virtual story time. Please check the web site or the Stowe Free Library-Youth Services Facebook page for updates.

I welcome your feedback and suggestions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or (802) 253-6145.

We understand that this situation is difficult. Please know that you are in our thoughts and that we are here to help however we can. We will get through this and I look forward to seeing you down the road.

Be well

Nancy
